Nun Monkton Foundation Primary School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our friendly and supportive team on a maternity cover basis. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in our thriving village school, supporting teaching and learning within our mixed-age Key Stage 2 class.

Nestled in the heart of a beautiful village community, Nun Monkton Foundation Primary School offers a unique and nurturing learning environment. From September 2026, we will have 40 pupils organised into two classes.

About the Role
The successful candidate will:
- Support high-quality teaching and learning across our Key Stage 2 class.
- Work closely with teaching staff to deliver engaging, inclusive and challenging learning experiences.
- Provide targeted support to individuals and groups of pupils, helping them to achieve their full potential.
- Promote children's academic progress, wellbeing and personal development.
- Lead and supervise our wraparound care provision three evenings per week.
- Contribute positively to our nurturing and collaborative school environment.
- Play an active role in helping every child thrive and succeed.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Enthusiastic, caring and passionate about supporting children's learning.
- Committed to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.
- Able to work effectively as part of a small, close-knit team.
- Skilled at building positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents and the wider community.
- Confident working with Key Stage 2 pupils and supporting them to become independent and resilient learners.
- Flexible, proactive and eager to contribute to all aspects of school life.
Experience of working with mixed-age classes would be advantageous, although not essential. Experience of Forest School provision or outdoor learning would also be welcomed.
Essential Qualifications
Applicants must hold:
- English and Maths qualifications at Level 2 (or equivalent).
- Meet all 33 of the HLTA Standards
