Job Summary
We are a Nottingham-based apparel manufacturing business looking for an experienced Sewing Machinist to join us on a contract basis for approximately 6 weeks, with the strong possibility of extension for the right candidate.
You will be working on swimwear and knit apparel, so precision, speed, and a clean finish are essential.
Duties
- Operating lockstitch and overlock machines to a high standard
- Coverstitch and hemming on stretch and knit fabrics (important)
- Maintaining consistent quality and working to production targets
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on producing high-quality work.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a sewing machinist in a production environment
- Proficient in lockstitch and overlock — this is a must
- Experience with coverstitch and hemming, particularly on stretch/knit fabrics
- Able to work independently and maintain quality at pace
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
