We're looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable project manager who performs best in a successful construction environment and who will help us compete in a higher league. You'll join an ambitious team determined to build on our 73-year record of success and further cement our position among the region's most respected and reliable contractors.

All our work is local to the North East and we have a steady pipeline of work from county council frameworks and NEPO, various education boards and a lot of repeat custom from healthcare, schools and commercial clients.

Your role
You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering your designated projects safely, on time, and within budget, working productively clients, our longstanding subcontractors and our internal teams to ensure projects run smoothly and meet quality standards. Your ideas on how we can continually improve our processes will be welcomed.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee day-to-day construction activities on site and provide support and advice for your Site Manager, helping them to manage effectively
- Create project schedules, track progress and update schedules if circumstances change
- Implement project budgets by controlling resources
- Review and interpret drawings and design changes
- Ability to foresee and plan to avoid potential health and safety risk on site
- Communicate easily with clients, architects, engineers and subcontractors
- Manage suppliers and subcontractors professionally and according to contract
- Identify project issues quickly and resolve them effectively
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety and regulatory requirements
- Prepare project reports and updates for clients
- Be able to manage multiple projects when needed
Skills and Experience Required
- Hands-on experience of construction required – former apprentices, former bricklayers/joiners/site managers etc welcome to apply
- Experience managing construction projects successfully
- Adept at project planning and scheduling
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Confident in a leadership role with experience managing teams and subcontractors
- Good communicator
- Relevant qualifications although the candidate will be supported in furthering their qualifications if desired/required
