About the Role
Bright Bridge is looking for compassionate and reliable Support Workers to join our growing team, working within children’s residential homes across the West Midlands.
This self-employed role offers flexibility — you’ll be supporting young people in care on a day-to-day or longer-term basis, depending on service needs. You may be required to travel to a residential home for long day shifts (typically 12–16 hours) with the option of a sleep-in, or respond to short-notice cover shifts.
As a Support Worker, you’ll play a key part in providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing direct care, emotional support, and guidance to children and young people
- Promoting independence, positive behaviour, and life skills
- Supporting daily routines within residential settings
- Maintaining accurate records and following care plans
- Working closely with home staff and managers to ensure a safe and stable environment
Requirements
- Experience working in children’s residential care or a similar setting
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to travel and work varied shifts, including sleep-ins
- Right to work in the UK
