About the Role
We're looking for an experienced, people-focused Site Manager to lead our forecourt and convenience store team in Salisbury. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong retail leader to take full ownership of a busy site, driving performance, developing a team, and delivering a great customer experience.
This role is all about people management. You'll be responsible for building, motivating, and developing a high-performing team, setting clear standards, and managing performance to get the best out of everyone on site. Forecourt-specific knowledge is not essential. Full training will be provided, but strong leadership and management skills are a must.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading, motivating, and developing your team to deliver excellent customer service and hit sales targets
- Managing staff performance, conduct, and development, including appraisals, reviews, and regular one-to-ones
- Recruiting, training, and onboarding new team members
- Setting and delegating daily responsibilities to assistant managers and sales staff to ensure smooth day-to-day running of the site
- Overseeing stock control, ordering, pricing, and promotional displays in line with company procedures
- Ensuring the site meets all health & safety, security, and compliance standards, including age-restricted sales and licensing requirements
- Managing site administration, cash handling, and banking procedures accurately and on time
- Maintaining high standards of store presentation, cleanliness, and operational efficiency
- Acting as the main point of contact for customers and staff on site policies and standards
What We're Looking For
- Proven retail management experience, where you'll have had experience in leading and developing teams
- A genuine people manager — confident managing performance, having difficult conversations when needed, and getting the best out of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues alike
- A proactive, self-motivated approach, comfortable working independently and as part of a wider team
- A results-driven mindset, with the ability to spot and act on opportunities to improve the business
- Forecourt or fuel retail experience is a plus but not essential — full training will be given
Why Apply?
This is a great opportunity to take charge of your own site, lead a team, and make a real impact — with the backing of a company that will invest in your development and give you the tools to succeed.
