The Legionella Risk Assessor role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to join our expanding team, undertaking high quality Legionella Risk Assessments and supporting clients in achieving compliance with current legislation and guidance.
Through the ProEconomy Continuous Competency Programme (CCP), successful candidates will receive ongoing training, mentoring and technical development, ensuring they remain competent with changing legislation, industry best practice, software developments and emerging technologies.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out Legionella Risk Assessments in accordance with ACoP L8, HSG274 and HTM 04-01 where applicable, while providing practical recommendations to help clients effectively manage risk.
Duties
- Carry out Legionella Risk Assessments on domestic hot and cold water systems.
- Assess healthcare, commercial, industrial and educational premises.
- Identify actual and potential Legionella risks within water systems.
- Produce accurate, detailed and professional risk assessment reports using Tetras.
- Develop practical and prioritised recommendations to reduce risk.
- Review existing control measures and written schemes.
- Conduct schematic verification and asset validation.
- Identify deficiencies including, but not limited to:
- Dead legsDead endsFlexible hosesThermostatic Mixing Valves (TMVs)Infrequently used outletsPoor temperature controlStagnationInadequate tank designWater quality concerns
- Undertake outlet temperature monitoring where required.
- Carry out photographic surveys and record system defects.
- Liaise professionally with clients, Responsible Persons and end users.
- Provide technical advice regarding remedial actions and compliance.
- Work closely with the Operations and Account Management teams to support quotations and remedial recommendations.
- Ensure reports are completed accurately and within agreed timescales.
Qualifications
Essential
- Full UK Driving Licence
- English and Maths GCSE or equivalent
- Legionella Risk Assessment qualification (City & Guilds, WMSoc, BOHS P901 or equivalent)
Desirable
- Water Hygiene qualification
- City & Guilds in an industry relevant discipline
- Plumbing qualification (NVQ Level 2 or 3 or equivalent)
- WRAS Water Regulations
- HTM 04-01 knowledge
- Membership of the Water Management Society or similar professional body
Experience
Essential
- Minimum three years' experience carrying out Legionella Risk Assessments.
- Good understanding of domestic hot and cold water systems.
- Experience producing Legionella Risk Assessments using digital software.
- Knowledge of:
- ACoP L8HSG274HTM 04-01British Standards where applicable
- Water Regulations
Desirable
- Knowledge of industry relevant legislation and guidelines; including but not limited to, ACoP L8, HSG274, HTM04-01, WRAS
- Experience leading a team
- Working in a healthcare environment

The Company

This copper and silver ionisation system eradicates harmful built environment water pathogens such as Legionella and Pseudomonas ensuring the water system is safe for human consumption.
