Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Female Care Assistant to join our team, providing essential support to an individual in her own home. She has a spinal injury, however this doesn’t stop her from living her life to the fullest. She wishes to live a very good life and enjoy life. She lives with her husband, her 6 dogs, ducks, chickens and horses. We all go down to the field no matter the weather. We are to complete tasks down the field such as filling hay nets, filling water buckets etc.
Looking for someone who is not afraid of animals and likes to be hands on. This is a very active package and a lot of time spent outdoors whether it’s sunny, snowing or raining.
This package is very complex/clinical so experience is required.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a complex/clinical care or providing home care is highly desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Strong communication skills in English to effectively interact with the individual, families, and team members
- Basic IT skills for recording care notes and updating electronic records accurately
- Ability to follow detailed care plans and adapt to individual needs with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Tracheostomy Care: Changing off the dressing. Changing of the tube. Changing of the inner cannula.
- Respiratory/Ventilation: 24hour ventilation is required with different settings and swapping over of vents.
- Cough assist: Done several times daily to help clear secretions.
- Suction: Via tracheostomy, done several times throughout the day to help clear secretions.
- Catheter: Super Pubic(SP): bladder wash, changing of the leg bags/night bags, emptying and monitoring output.
- Rig Tube: used for administeringl medication/fluids.
- Moving and handling: hoisting, slide sheet, turning, spinal positional.
- Medication
- Nebulisers: Attached onto the ventilator tube.
- Diabetes: monitoring Blood Sugars, administrating insulin.
- Blood pressure monitoring
- SATs monitoring (oxygen levels)
- Assist with daily activities such as washing, dressing, oral hygiene, hair care and mobility to promote independence and dignity.
- Support with meal preparation and feeding.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including infection control procedures, to maintain a safe environment for everyone
Shifts are 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am. 2 to 1 24hours a day. 12hour shifts.
2 to 1- 24hours a day.
Looking for day shifts and night shifts.
All training will be provided from the company that we currently work for.
