Responsibilities
- Support chefs and kitchen staff by cleaning dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment promptly and thoroughly.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen surfaces, floors, storage areas, and waste disposal to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Help organize stock supplies, check inventory levels, and ensure proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
- Follow safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents or contamination within the kitchen environment.
- Support serving staff during busy service times by providing clean dishes and assisting with basic setup tasks.
- Contribute to a positive team atmosphere by communicating effectively and supporting colleagues in daily operations.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for motivated candidates.
- Familiarity with food preparation techniques such as basic cooking or handling ingredients is advantageous.
- Experience working in a hotel or catering setting can be beneficial but is not mandatory.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards relevant to kitchen operations is a plus.
