# Robocode Instructor (Liverpool)
### Where future engineers begin
Robocode is opening its newest centre in Liverpool, and we are looking for an enthusiastic instructor to inspire the next generation of makers, coders, and engineers.
## About Robocode
Robocode is a children's STEM education company. We teach coding, robotics, game development, AI, cyber security, and 3D printing to young people aged 6 to 17. Alongside our centres in Solihull and Leicester, our new Liverpool site will run weekly term-time sessions, school-holiday camps, and accredited qualifications.
Everything we do is built on one idea: turning children from consumers of technology into creators of it. Our structured learning pathways (Apprentice and Academy tiers across Robotics and Game Development) take each child from their very first line of code through to recognised industry credentials.
## The role
As a Robocode Instructor you will:
- Deliver our coding, robotics, and game development curriculum to small groups of children and teenagers
- Bring lessons to life with energy, patience, and a genuine love of the subject
- Guide each child through their logbook progression and support them toward their qualifications
- Manage the classroom so every session is safe, focused, and fun
- Help set up and run our new Liverpool centre as part of a close-knit team
## What we are looking for
**Essential**
- Confidence in at least one of: coding, robotics, or game development
- A natural ability to engage and motivate children aged 6 to 17
- Clear communication and a reliable, professional approach
- The right to work in the UK
- A willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check
**Desirable**
- Experience teaching, tutoring, or running activities for young people
- Familiarity with tools such as Scratch, Python, block coding, LEGO or VEX robotics, or game engines like Unity or Roblox Studio
- A background in a STEM subject
- Experience supporting SEN or neurodivergent learners
No formal teaching qualification is required. If you know your subject and you are great with children, we want to hear from you. Full training in the Robocode curriculum is provided.
## What we offer
- £13 to £20 per hour, depending on experience
- Full training and ongoing development in our curriculum and teaching methods
- A supportive, ambitious team and the chance to shape a brand-new centre from day one
- A genuinely rewarding role helping young people discover what they can build
## Hours and location
- Location: Liverpool (new centre)
- Casual contract, with part-time options available
- Typical sessions run after school, at weekends, and during school holidays
