We are seeking a motivated and collaborative individual to join our team as a Research Assistant. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a multidisciplinary project addressing the unmet clinical need for minimally invasive blood biomarkers for neurodegenerative diseases and neuro-oncology. You will join the NanoOmics Lab at the Centre for Nanotechnology in Medicine and use nanoparticle-enabled technology to investigate the relationship between brain pathology and the blood proteome.
You will be responsible for:

Undertake research (preparing, setting up, conducting and recording the outcome of experiments and field work, the development of questionnaires and conducting surveys)

Contribute to the production of research reports and publications

Contribute to the planning of research projects
-
Analyse and interpret the results of own research and generate original ideas based on outcomes

Actively participate as a member of a research team

About You

Essential Criteria

Degree or equivalent in relevant subject

Current or prior holder of a Procedure Individual Licence (PIL) for in vivo work

Demonstrable expertise in histology techniques (tissue staining and sectioning)

Demonstrable expertise in proteomics techniques (gel electrophoresis, ELISA) and mass spectrometry data analysis tools (Proteome Discoverer, Progenesis, Scaffold)

Experience working with animal models of glioblastoma
