Based in Ardleigh near Colchester, Essex, Priory Elm Park is a specialist brain injury service. We provide neurobehavioural rehabilitation for people with complex neurological needs, following an acquired brain injury (ABI) or traumatic brain injury (TBI). This includes assessment as well as treatment.
This is a full time role - 37.5 hours and salary is £13.95phr
We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Assistant Psychologist to join our Psychology team. You will support the delivery of high-quality psychological care, working under the supervision of a qualified psychologist to help improve the mental, emotional, physical, and social wellbeing of service users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of psychological assessments using a range of assessment tools and structured interviews.
- Assist with the development and implementation of care plans and therapeutic interventions.
- Co-facilitate therapeutic groups and support the delivery of one-to-one sessions.
- Maintain accurate clinical records, reports, and case notes in line with organisational policies.
- Attend and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Assist with data collection, research, service evaluation, and report writing under supervision.
- Support the training and development of colleagues where appropriate.

Essential:
- A degree in Psychology (or equivalent) that provides eligibility for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) with the British Psychological Society (BPS).
- A good understanding of psychological theory and its application in clinical practice.
- Ability to work under the supervision of an HCPC-registered Practitioner Psychologist.
- Strong communication, organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with a flexible and creative approach to supporting service users.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a mental health, healthcare or related setting.
- Experience of supporting psychological assessments, therapeutic interventions, or group work.
- An interest in research, service evaluation and data analysis.
