Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join our childcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental needs through engaging activities and personalised care. This role offers an opportunity to utilise your management and leadership skills while fostering a positive learning atmosphere for children aged from birth to five years. The position is paid and ideal for individuals passionate about early childhood education and childcare.
Duties
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate educational activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development.
- Supervise children during playtime, mealtimes, and rest periods, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Support children's individual needs through personalised care plans and behavioural guidance.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop programmes that enhance learning outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and wellbeing.
- Manage daily administrative tasks related to child records and activity documentation.
- Lead by example in demonstrating excellent childcare practices, fostering teamwork within the nursery setting.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early childhood setting.
- Strong management and leadership skills to oversee daily activities and team coordination.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Children's Care or equivalent are preferred.
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting children or attending external activities.
- Ability to organise tasks efficiently, prioritise responsibilities, and work independently or as part of a team.
- Passionate about child development with a caring, patient demeanour suitable for working with young children.
