If you're caring, resilient and looking for a career where you can genuinely change someone's life, we'd love to hear from you.
Experience in care is helpful but not essential . Full training, ongoing support and nationally recognised qualifications are provided.
Not everyone wants to spend their career sitting behind a desk.
Some people enjoy helping others, solving problems, building relationships and making a real difference.
If that sounds like you, residential childcare could be a career you never considered—but one that could be incredibly rewarding.
Every day you'll support one young person who has experienced difficult life experiences, helping them feel safe, build confidence and move towards a more positive future.
This isn't simply "looking after children."
It's becoming someone they can rely on.
You'll be supporting one young person with everyday life, including:
- Helping with morning and evening routines
- Cooking meals together
- Encouraging hobbies, education and independence
- Going out into the community
- Supporting appointments and activities
- Listening, encouraging and building trust
- Keeping the home safe, welcoming and structured
- Recording important information and working as part of a team
Every day is different.
Some days are relaxed and enjoyable.
Others can be challenging, requiring patience, resilience and teamwork.
Absolutely.
You are not expected to know everything on day one.
Our client provides:
- Full induction and training
- A recognised residential childcare qualification
- Ongoing mentoring
- Therapeutic training
- Regular supervision
- Continuous professional development
You'll never be expected to learn alone.
Our client is opening a brand-new solo children's home in Saddleworth (Oldham).
Rather than supporting several young people at once, you'll work with one young person , allowing you to build meaningful relationships and provide consistent support.
The home follows a therapeutic approach based on:
- Trauma-informed care
- Relationship-led practice
- DDP (Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy)
- PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy)
The aim is simple:
To provide one young person with the stability, care and consistency they need to thrive.
Supporting children who have experienced trauma can be emotionally demanding.
That's why our client invests heavily in supporting their staff.
You'll have access to:
- A dedicated Adult Psychotherapist
- Fortnightly reflective practice sessions
- Clinical guidance
- Emotional wellbeing support
- Ongoing coaching and development
We're much more interested in who you are than where you've worked.
You may be a great fit if you're:
- Caring and compassionate
- Calm under pressure
- Reliable and dependable
- Curious and willing to learn
- Emotionally resilient
- A good communicator
- Patient and consistent
