About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our team to assist with the accounting process for our retail and commercial divisions. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking for their first step into a commercial finance role. The role will assist in the day-to-day and month-end financial operations of the business. You will be responsible for accurate data input in order to support the financial reporting processes, and preparation of monthly management accounts, ensuring that all data is timely and accurate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the Purchase ledgers and ensure accuracy of financial data
- Process Purchase Invoices, credit notes, ensuring correct coding and approvals
- Reconcile supplier statements and manage invoice queries including resolution
- Processing of employee expenses and preparing for payment
- Company credit card reconciliation and processing
- Raising of Purchase Orders based on requisition requests for both stock and non-stock requirements
- Weekly Bank reconciliations
- Stock reconciliations and resolution of any discrepancies, ensure stock receipts match as required
- Stock Landed Cost calculations and input into the system to ensure correct stock pricing
- Balance sheet reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies
- Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting to support business initiatives
- Manage the finance inbox and respond to internal and external queries promptly
Key Requirements:
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Excel skills
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Strong communication skills and ability to liaise confidently across all levels of the business
