Deputy General Manager

We're looking for an experienced and motivated Deputy General Manager to join the team at the Bread & Cheese.
The Bread & Cheese is a busy, well established pub and restaurant with a reputation for quality food, great drinks and genuine hospitality. From relaxed lunches and evening dining to our popular Sunday Carvery and regular events, we pride ourselves on delivering memorable experiences for every guest.
As Deputy General Manager, you'll work alongside the General Manager to lead the day to day operation, inspire the team and ensure consistently high standards across every part of the business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone ready to take the next step in their management career or an established Deputy looking for a fresh challenge.
What you'll be doing
- Supporting the General Manager with the day to day running of the business
- Leading, motivating and developing the front of house team
- Delivering outstanding customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere
- Managing shifts, staffing levels and labour costs
- Helping drive sales while maintaining strong cost controls
- Ensuring excellent food and drink standards are maintained
- Supporting recruitment, training and team development
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, health & safety and compliance
- Taking ownership of the business in the General Manager's absence
We're looking for someone who
- Has management experience in a busy pub, restaurant or hospitality venue
- Is a confident leader who enjoys developing people
- Thrives in a fast paced environment
- Leads by example and isn't afraid to get stuck in
- Has excellent organisational and communication skills
- Is passionate about hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences
- Is commercially aware and understands how to drive business performance
