WELDER / FABRICATOR
Job Overview
Brierley Pressings Ltd is seeking an experienced Welder / Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the fabrication, assembly and welding of steel components and assemblies to customer specifications whilst maintaining high standards of quality, productivity and housekeeping.
This role is suited to an individual who can work independently, read engineering drawings and take pride in producing quality work whilst contributing positively to the wider production team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture and assemble components from engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Perform MIG welding to a high standard on steel fabrications.
- Fabricate, fit and assemble products accurately in accordance with customer requirements.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication details and production documentation.
- Operate fabrication equipment including drills, grinders, saws and other workshop machinery.
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and customer specifications.
- Identify and report defects, quality concerns or drawing discrepancies.
- Assist with loading, unloading and movement of materials where required.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Support other production activities as required to ensure customer orders are completed and dispatched on time.
- Follow all Company health and safety procedures.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a Welder / Fabricator within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Competent MIG welding skills.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Experience using fabrication machinery and hand tools.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude and willingness to support the wider business.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday
08:00 – 16:30
30-minute unpaid lunch break
Two paid 15-minute breaks per day
Rate of Pay
£16.00 + Depending upon Experience.
Overtime may be available and must be approved in advance by management.
