Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced level 2 or 3 qualified Nursery Practitioner to join our independent small friendly nursery located in RG4. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with children, supporting their development and learning in a nurturing environment, we pride ourselves in caring for staff well being and promoting a calm working environment (where possible). The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality childcare, ensuring a safe and stimulating atmosphere for children aged from birth to five years.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement engaging activities tailored to the individual needs of children, promoting their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
- Supervise children during play, meal times, and rest periods, ensuring their safety at all times
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily routines in accordance with setting policies
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication and teamwork
- Support the management team in organising daily operations within the nursery setting
- Lead by example in maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming environment that adheres to health and safety regulations
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the nursery’s curriculum and policies
Qualifications
- Hold a valid Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Childhood Education recognised within the UK
- Proven experience working with young children within a nursery or similar setting - newly qualified candidates will be considered if they have the relevant passion
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written - must hold GCSE level c/4 or above in English and/or functional skills
- Knowledge of current childcare legislation and best practice guidelines
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative and independence
- A caring attitude with genuine enthusiasm for working with children

Ideal candidates will require an enhanced DBS (a new one can be obtained if a valid one on the update service is not in place), this role is excluded from the rehabilitation of offenders act.
Pay: Up to £32,000.00 per year
