We have a great opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join our team in the Woking office.
This is an opportunity assist and provide support to the Finance team with day-to-day reporting and processing, ensuring accurate and timely maintenance of the practice management system. You will also be providing an efficient support service to colleagues firmwide.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:
✅ Keeping our systems running smoothly – maintain and administer the practice management system, ensuring data is accurate, complete and up to date.
✅ Supporting effective time recording – help colleagues with timesheet queries, adjustments and the accurate posting of timesheets.
✅ Managing key people updates – process starters, leavers and status changes within the practice management system.
✅ Supporting WIP and billing processes – process WIP transfers and assist with billing queries and fee approvals.
✅ Turning data into useful information – run and distribute reports to support Finance colleagues and teams across the wider business.
✅ Being a helpful first point of contact – manage the Practice Management Support inbox, responding to queries and escalating more complex requests when needed.
✅ Supporting day-to-day finance activities – assist with journals and other routine financial transactions, ensuring they are processed accurately and efficiently.
✅ Helping with cash reporting and processing – support the wider Finance team with daily cash activities and reporting.
✅ Being part of a collaborative Finance team – provide ad-hoc support and cover for colleagues, getting involved wherever your skills and support are needed.
What We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for someone who is organised, detail-focused and keen to develop their finance experience as part of a supportive and collaborative team. You’ll enjoy working with numbers and systems, solving queries and making sure things are done accurately and on time.
You’ll ideally bring:
A good head for numbers – GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English, along with a basic understanding of finance and accounting processes. A bookkeeping qualification would be a bonus, but isn’t essential.
Confidence with technology – good Excel and Microsoft Office skills, with the enthusiasm to learn new finance and practice management systems.
Great attention to detail – you’ll be comfortable working with financial information and take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.
Strong organisation skills – able to manage your workload, balance different priorities and meet deadlines.
A confident, helpful approach – comfortable communicating with colleagues, investigating queries and finding solutions, while knowing when to ask for support.
A collaborative mindset – you’ll enjoy building positive working relationships and contributing to shared team goals.
Previous experience within finance, accounts, administration or business support would be beneficial, particularly if you’ve worked with financial systems, databases, reporting or transactional processing.
Experience within professional services is welcomed, but it’s not essential – we’re equally interested in your potential, attitude and willingness to learn.
There’s no travel requirement for the role, although you’ll have the opportunity to visit other Menzies offices if you’d like to.
