Job Summary
The Plough Inn is a recently renovated, 17th century independent pub and restaurant in the village of Marsh Gibbon, 10 mins from Bicester. We have been steadily gaining a reputation for quality food and drink and are getting very good reviews for looking after all our guests’ needs. We have two bars, a restaurant and inside/outside kitchens plus a landscaped garden. We are currently Weds-Sun but looking to open earlier in the week; we also do events and private hire.
We have a friendly team and are in need of a full-time hospitality professional to join us and work/manage FoH under the direction of the business owners. Excellent T&Cs detailed in the job description. This position is open now and we are looking to interview and recruit to start in September, the earlier the better.

Description
Full-time post as FoH Manager. You should be practiced at leading, monitoring and training bar, restaurant and general staff and be skilled at customer engagement and retention. A working knowledge of H&S, licensing and other hospitality compliance areas is required, alongside opening and closing, rostering, cleaning, stocking and front/back office operation.
Familiarity and competence in bar/restaurant operation is necessary, as well as strong bar and wine knowledge as we are growing our offerings in these areas. Barista skills would be welcome as would be the ability to train these.
We are looking for someone who can happily operate as part of a small team but has the ability to ensure that standards are maintained or increased while keeping the rest of the team onside. You will report directly to the business owners in this respect.
As we have a very varied clientele, you should be comfortable dealing with a wide spectrum of customers from all walks of life who come to take advantage of our facilities. You should also be able to create a welcoming atmosphere and a “can do” mentality, both personally and with our staff.
We operate a shared gratuity system based on hours, as well as discounted food and drink, a company pension scheme and a performance bonus / profit share for the right candidate.
Salary £16-£18+ph negotiable depending on experience and roles taken on. Flexible working available to mutual convenience.
Pay: £16.00-£18.00 per hour
