What We Are Looking For:
We are seeking a proactive and professional HR Adviser to provide HR advice and support to managers and employees. The successful candidate will assist with employee relations, HR processes, policy implementation, and maintaining accurate employee records within a structured working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide professional HR advice and guidance to managers and employees
Support the implementation and delivery of HR policies and procedures
Advise on employee relations matters in line with current legislation and organisational policies
Maintain accurate, confidential HR records and documentation
Assist with recruitment processes and other HR activities as required
Ensure sensitive employee information is handled with confidentiality and professionalism
Work collaboratively with HR colleagues and stakeholders to deliver an effective HR service
Support continuous improvement of HR processes and services
Person Specification:
Must Have:
Qualifications & Compliance:
Right to work in the UK
Ability to provide evidence of eligibility to work in the UK
Successful CV review and interview completion
Three years of written references, with any employment gaps verified
National Insurance number verification
All legally required licences, qualifications, or registrations verified where applicable
Willingness to complete all required pre-employment checks and documentation
Experience & Knowledge:
Previous experience within a Human Resources advisory role or similar HR environment
Knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice
Experience supporting managers and employees with HR-related queries
Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive employee information
Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organisational and time management abilities
Ability to prioritise workload and manage competing deadlines
Strong attention to detail and accuracy when maintaining records
Ability to work collaboratively as part of an HR team
Nice to Have:
Experience working within a local authority or public sector environment
Experience providing HR advisory support within a complex organisation
Exposure to employee relations casework and HR procedures
