Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor, seeking a new role in the Social Housing sector?
My client has an immediate opportunity to join their team on a permanent basis.
Reporting to the Senior Contract Manager, the successful applicant will work on a hybrid basis, providing professional quantity surveying support across repairs, maintenance and investment programmes, ensuring effective cost control, value for money, and financial compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the commercial and financial aspects of the repairs, maintenance, and asset investment contact.
- Prepare, monitor, and report on budgets, forecasts, and expenditure to ensure effective cost control and value for money.
- Assess, validate, and process contractor valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts.
- Review and challenge contractor costs, variations, and claims to ensure accuracy and compliance with contractual terms and Schedule of Rates (SoRs).
- Undertake cost analysis and benchmarking to identify efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.
- Support the procurement of contractors and consultants, including preparation of tender documentation, pricing analysis, and evaluation.
- Assist in the management of contracts from tender through to final account, ensuring financial and contractual compliance.
- Work closely with the Senior Contract Manager to monitor contractor performance in relation to cost, quality, and delivery.
- Contribute to the management of disrepair cases, insurance claims, and complex works from a cost and contractual perspective.
Requirements:
- Degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction, or related field.
- Experience in quantity surveying or commercial role within construction, housing, or property maintenance.
- Experience of cost control, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Experience of working with contractors and managing payments, valuations, and variations.
