We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented SHOTBLASTER/PAINTER OR TRAINEE WITH AN APTITUDE FOR THE JOB to join our manufacturing and finishing team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces through high-pressure blasting techniques to ensure optimal quality and durability of our products. Your expertise will help maintain our high standards for surface preparation, contributing to the overall success of our projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where precision, safety, and efficiency are paramount.
Responsibilities
- Operate shotblasting equipment to clean and prepare surfaces according to project specifications
- Set up and adjust blasting machines, ensuring proper pressure levels and nozzle configurations for different materials
- Inspect surfaces before and after blasting to verify quality standards are met
- Maintain and troubleshoot shotblasting machinery, performing routine cleaning and minor repairs as needed
- Follow safety protocols diligently, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) during operation
- Assist with fabricating or assembling components related to blasting equipment or surface preparation tools
- Handle heavy lifting of materials and parts safely, utilizing proper techniques and tools
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge of shotblasting equipment and related machinery
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools for setup, adjustments, and minor repairs
- Experience with sewing or fabricating protective coverings or masking materials is a plus
- Ability to perform fabrication tasks related to surface preparation or equipment modifications
- Warehouse experience is beneficial for understanding inventory management of supplies and parts
- Physical strength for heavy lifting, standing, bending, and manual handling throughout shifts
- Skilled in assembly processes for preparing blasting units or related components

Pay: £12.00-£15.00 per hour
