Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Site Manager to oversee construction on a new build project for holiday cover. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all site activities, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards of safety and quality. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a professional with strong management skills and a background in project supervision to lead diverse teams and manage complex operations effectively.
Duties
- Oversee daily site operations, ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to facilitate smooth workflow.
- Supervise site personnel, including subcontractors and labourers, providing clear guidance and support.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor safety compliance, quality standards, and environmental regulations.
- Manage procurement activities, including ordering materials and equipment required for the project.
- Prepare progress reports and documentation for senior management and stakeholders.
- Address any issues or delays promptly to minimise impact on project timelines.
- Promote a safety-first culture by implementing health and safety policies across the site.
Requirements
- Proven management experience within the construction or infrastructure sector.
- Supervising experience with a track record of leading successful teams on-site.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 or similar programme management software is essential.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise confidently with clients, contractors, and team members.
- A thorough understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to construction sites.
- SMSTS or SSSTS.
- CSCS Card, black or gold ideally .
- One day first aid training minimum.
