Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen environment, ensuring smooth daily operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience within the hospitality industry, particularly in food preparation, cooking, and restaurant service. Prior kitchen or hotel experience is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. Responsibilities
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision to support the kitchen team
- Ensure all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised following health and safety standards
- Support with the organisation of kitchen supplies and stock management
- Help with the disposal of waste and recycling materials appropriately
- Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas throughout shifts
- Assist with serving food and beverages as required during busy service periods
- Follow all hygiene regulations diligently to uphold high standards of cleanliness and safety within the kitchen environment
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is desirable but not mandatory
- Knowledge of food preparation and basic cooking techniques is advantageous
- Familiarity with kitchen safety and hygiene standards preferred
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
