About the Role
We are currently recruiting experienced Support Workers to work within supported living services in the Kidderminster area. The role involves supporting male adults with dementia, complex needs and personal care requirements, while promoting their independence, dignity and wellbeing.
This is an excellent opportunity for reliable and compassionate Support Workers who are confident working independently while being part of a supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
Providing high-quality person-centred support to residents.
Supporting with personal care, including bathing and showering.
Supporting residents with daily activities and community outings.
Completing observations and maintaining accurate records.
Remaining alert and attentive to residents' needs and wellbeing.
Supporting individuals with dementia and complex needs.
Assisting with housekeeping duties, laundry and making beds where required.
Supporting with medication where applicable, with assistance from the existing team.
Encouraging independence and maintaining residents' dignity and choice.
Following all care plans, risk assessments, safeguarding procedures and service policies.
Communicating effectively with colleagues and reporting any concerns promptly.
Essential Requirements
Previous experience working as a Support Worker or in a similar care role.
Experience supporting adults with dementia.
Experience providing personal care.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work confidently and responsibly with individuals on a 1-to-1 basis.
Reliable, punctual and professional approach to work.
Ability to remain calm, observant and attentive throughout the shift.
Flexibility to work afternoon and weekend shifts.
Desirable
Medication training/experience.
Experience supporting individuals with complex needs.
Experience working within supported living or residential care.
Additional relevant care qualifications and training
