Etag Gate Services Ltd is a growing, family-run business specialising in the installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of automated gates, barriers, bollards and access control systems across the Midlands.
Due to continued growth, we’re looking for a hardworking and reliable Gate Engineer or Trainee Gate Engineer to join our team. Whether you already have industry experience or are looking to start a new hands-on career, we’d love to hear from you. Full training can be provided for the right candidate.
The Role
As part of our engineering team, you’ll be responsible for:
* Installing manual and automated gates.
* Installing barriers, bollards and access control systems.
* Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on existing gate automation systems.
* Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults.
* Installing, wiring and programming access control equipment, including intercoms, keypads and safety devices.
* Carrying out groundwork associated with gate installations where required.
* Completing installation and service paperwork accurately.
* Ensuring all work is carried out safely and to a high standard.
* Providing excellent customer service and maintaining a professional approach at all times.
* Keeping work areas, vehicles and equipment clean and organised.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
* A full UK driving licence.
* Ideally local to Burntwood/Lichfield/Tamworth/Rugeley area
* A hands-on approach and enjoy practical work.
* A positive, can-do attitude.
* A strong work ethic and be hardworking and reliable.
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* A willingness to travel throughout the Midlands.
* Good communication and customer service skills.
* Experience within the gate automation or access control industry is preferred but not essential.
* Groundworks experience is preferred but not essential.
* Mechanical and/or electrical experience would be an advantage.
* A willingness to learn and develop new skills if applying as a trainee.
What We Offer
* Starting salary of £26,000 - £32,000 per year, depending on experience.
* Regular pay reviews with opportunities for salary increases based on performance, skills and progression.
* Full training and ongoing support for trainees.
* Company uniform and PPE provided.
* Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm.
* Overtime available.
