Part-Time Chef / Kitchen Team Member
We are looking for a reliable, passionate and hardworking Part-Time Chef to join our friendly café/bistro team.
The role includes preparing fresh breakfasts, lunches, brunch dishes and supporting with daily kitchen duties in a busy but welcoming environment.
We are looking for someone who is hands-on, flexible and happy to get stuck in. During busy periods, teamwork is essential, so you should be comfortable working under pressure and helping wherever needed to keep the service running smoothly.
Hours:
Mainly daytime hours – approximately 9am – 2pm
Weekend availability is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing and cooking fresh food to a high standard
- Preparing breakfasts, lunches, brunch dishes and other menu items
- Ensuring good presentation and consistency of dishes
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen
- Following food hygiene and health & safety procedures
- Supporting with stock rotation, food preparation and kitchen organization
- Working efficiently during busy service times
- Keeping the kitchen clean and tidy throughout service
- Working as part of the wider café team
- Being willing to jump in and help wherever needed during busy periods
What we're looking for:
- Previous kitchen or chef experience preferred
- Passion for fresh food, cooking and presentation
- Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment
- Reliable, hardworking and team-focused
- Good communication skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Flexible and willing to help with different tasks
- Availability to work weekends is essential
Bonus points if you:
- Have experience working in a café, restaurant or busy kitchen
- Can confidently prepare and cook a variety of dishes
- Have experience with breakfast, brunch or lunch menus
- Are comfortable working independently as well as part of a team
- Can step in and support other areas of the café when needed
- Have a driving licence (preferred but not essential)
