We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Laundry Assistant to join our friendly team in a caring nursing home environment.
You will be responsible for ensuring that residents have a constant supply of clean, fresh and well-presented clothing, bedding and other laundry items. You will play an important role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, dignity and comfort for our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort, wash, dry, fold and store residents’ clothing, bedding and other laundry items.
- Ensure laundry is returned to the correct residents promptly.
- Operate washing machines, tumble dryers and other laundry equipment safely.
- Follow infection prevention and control procedures at all times.
- Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic laundry area.
- Report any damaged or missing items to the appropriate person.
- Manage laundry supplies and notify management when stocks are running low.
- Follow the nursing home’s health and safety policies and procedures.
- Treat residents’ belongings with care, respect and confidentiality.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Reliable, punctual and well organised.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physically able to undertake laundry duties, including standing and handling laundry.
- Friendly, respectful and compassionate towards elderly residents.
- Able to work efficiently while maintaining high standards.
- Previous laundry or care home experience is desirable.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
