Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient operation and high-quality food production.
- Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards.
- Manage food safety protocols, including hygiene practices and proper storage procedures.
- Oversee the organisation of the kitchen, including stock control, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness.
- Develop new menu items in collaboration with management, considering seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Train and mentor junior team members to enhance their culinary skills and knowledge.
- Ensure all food served meets presentation standards and customer expectations.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to coordinate service times and optimise customer satisfaction.
Experience
- Proven experience in food production within a professional kitchen environment.
- Supervising experience or team management skills are highly desirable.
- Extensive knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards.
- Strong background in cooking techniques, food preparation, and hospitality service.
- Previous restaurant experience demonstrating the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
- Familiarity with serving procedures and customer service principles is advantageous.
