Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team, supporting looked after young people in a children's residential home. In this role, you will provide essential support to children, helping them achieve their personal goals and enhancing their overall wellbeing. You will be responsible for implementing care plans, fostering a safe environment, and encouraging positive development through engaging activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a genuine passion for working with children.
Employees are required to work a shift pattern of two days on, followed by four days off, inclusive of sleep in duties which rates are paid at £65.00
Responsibilities
- Assist children in daily activities, promoting independence and personal growth.
- Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to each child's needs.
- Communicate effectively with children, families, and other professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to care.
- Engage children in educational and recreational activities that stimulate their development.
- Maintain accurate records of progress and any incidents that may occur during care.
- Drive to various locations as required for outings or appointments, ensuring the safety of all passengers.
- Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children is preferred but not essential, as all training will be provided; childcare qualifications are advantageous.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with children and their families.
- Ability to understand and implement care plans accurately.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for transport-related duties.
- Proficiency in IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes.
- A compassionate nature with the ability to empathise with children's needs and challenges.
