Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries. Duties
- Safely operate company vehicles, including vans and lorries, in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies.
- Deliver goods to clients and customers across designated routes, ensuring accurate and complete deliveries.
- Assist with loading and unloading items, which may involve heavy lifting and manual handling.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain necessary signatures upon delivery.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any unforeseen delays.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure safety standards are met and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times during deliveries and while handling goods.
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of commercial driving practices.
- Valid driver’s licence or equivalent, with a clean driving record.
- Experience in warehouse operations or logistics is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required during loading or unloading processes.
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members.
- Good organisational skills to manage routes efficiently and adhere to schedules.
