Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pre-School Leader to oversee the daily operations of our early childhood education centre. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children and fostering a nurturing learning environment. This role involves guiding a team of childcare professionals, developing engaging activities, and ensuring the highest standards of care and education are maintained. The Pre-School Leader will play a vital role in supporting children's development and creating a positive atmosphere for both children and staff.
Qualifications
- Minimum QCF level 5 Diploma in Child Care in Learning and Development or higher.
Experience
- Lead and manage the pre-school team, providing guidance and support to ensure effective delivery of educational programmes
- Plan, organise, and implement age-appropriate activities that promote early childhood development
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for children to learn and grow
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and colleagues regarding children's progress and centre activities
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and childcare standards
- Oversee daily operations, including attendance, behaviour management, and resource management
- Maintain accurate records of children's development, attendance, and other administrative duties
- Drive organisational initiatives to enhance the quality of care provided by the centre
Experience
- Proven management or leadership experience within a childcare setting or nursery environment
- Extensive working with children, ideally within early childhood education or childcare sectors
- Strong understanding of childcare regulations, safeguarding procedures, and health & safety standards
- Experience in developing educational programmes tailored to young children’s needs
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting materials or attending external meetings or events

Pay: £30,000.00-£30,500.00 per year
