General Labourer / Driver

South West Heritage & Development Ltd is looking for a reliable and hardworking General Labourer / Driver to join our growing team.
We undertake a wide range of construction projects across the South West, including heritage and listed building works, renovations, roofing, new builds and general construction projects.
This is a varied role combining general site labouring with driving and logistical duties, supporting our site teams and helping to move materials, tools and equipment between our projects.
The Role
Your duties will include:
- General labouring duties across a variety of construction sites
- Assisting trades and Site Managers with day-to-day site activities
- Loading, unloading and moving building materials
- Collecting materials and supplies from builders' merchants and suppliers
- Delivering materials, tools and equipment between SWHD projects
- Moving equipment and materials between sites and our storage facilities
- Keeping working areas clean, organised and safe
- Assisting with site set-up and clearance
- Carrying out general manual handling duties
- Safely operating company vehicles
- Completing basic vehicle checks and reporting any defects or maintenance requirements
- Working in accordance with SWHD's Health & Safety procedures and site rules
As our projects are located across the South West, driving will form an important part of the role, and applicants must be comfortable travelling between different sites as required.
What We're Looking For
The successful applicant will ideally have:
- A full UK driving licence
- Previous construction or general labouring experience
- A good understanding of site Health & Safety
- The ability to carry out physical and manual work
- A reliable and punctual approach to work
- Good communication skills
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a site team
- A flexible attitude, with a willingness to undertake a variety of tasks
- Good organisational skills when collecting and delivering materials
- A professional and respectful attitude when dealing with clients, suppliers and other contractors
Experience driving commercial vans and/or towing trailers would also be advantageous.

Our work ranges from traditional and heritage construction through to major renovations, roofing, new-build and commercial projects.

This position would suit someone who enjoys a varied working day, is happy getting stuck into general site work and is equally comfortable being trusted to collect and deliver materials between our projects.
Job Type: Full-time
Location: Working across SWHD construction sites throughout the South West
