South West London | Permanent | 24 guaranteed hours | £24 gross per hour | Start 15 September 2026
Aurelia Homes is a new premium housekeeping membership company serving carefully selected private homes across Wimbledon and surrounding South West London. We are appointing one exceptional Senior Housekeeper to become the founding Aurelia Professional and help establish the standard by which every future team member will work.
This is a hands-on role for someone who sees the details others miss: the precise finish of a room, the correct care of a delicate surface, beautifully presented linen, a securely closed home and the quiet reassurance created by consistent, discreet service. You will initially work independently across a small portfolio of member homes, following a Personalised Home Care Plan and the Aurelia Standard.
As the founding Senior Housekeeper, you will also contribute practical insight as our systems develop. As the company grows, there may be an opportunity to support the induction and quality coaching of future housekeepers. There are no direct reports at the outset.
The offer
£24 gross per hour, paid through PAYE.
24 guaranteed hours each week, equivalent to £29,952 gross per year at the guaranteed hours.
Primarily Monday-Friday daytime working, with the rota provided in advance.
Additional hours may be offered and worked by agreement, paid at the normal hourly rate.
Travel time between member homes is paid; authorised business mileage is reimbursed separately in accordance with company policy.
5.6 weeks' paid annual leave pro rata (134.4 hours for a full holiday year at 24 hours per week), including any bank holidays taken as leave.
Workplace pension and statutory benefits, subject to eligibility.
Paid Aurelia Foundations Programme, supplied uniform, professional products and equipment.
A long-term opportunity to grow with a standards-led South West London company.
What you will do
Deliver exceptional hands-on housekeeping and whole-home presentation in accordance with each member's Personalised Home Care Plan.
Care for kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living areas and agreed household spaces with disciplined attention to sequence, finish and presentation.
Make and present beds; manage agreed laundry, ironing, linen care and linen-cupboard presentation.
Use the correct methods for natural stone, marble, timber, metals, glass, upholstery, delicate fabrics and other high-value finishes.
Complete an exacting Final Walkthrough, record work completed and report damage, defects, low supplies or concerns promptly.
Follow product instructions, COSHH controls, manual-handling guidance, lone-working procedures and all health-and-safety requirements.
Protect keys, alarm details, access codes, possessions and private information with absolute discretion.
Contribute practical feedback to service standards and, when required later, support the induction and quality coaching of new team members.
What we are looking for
Substantial, demonstrable professional housekeeping experience gained in private residences, five-star hospitality, luxury serviced residences or another comparably exacting environment.
Confident knowledge of products, surfaces, fabrics, laundry and linen care, with the judgement to pause and ask rather than risk damage.
A consistent record of reliability, punctuality, honesty and respectful conduct in private environments.
The ability to work independently, manage time calmly, follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate service records.
Warm, polished communication and the ability to preserve professional boundaries with members, visitors, colleagues and suppliers.
Reliable ability to travel between member homes across the stated service area. A driving licence and access to a vehicle are advantageous where they support the travel requirement, but are not essential if reliable travel can otherwise be demonstrated.
The right to work in the UK and the ability to provide two satisfactory, verifiable professional references.
Scope of the role
This position focuses on professional housekeeping and home presentation. It does not include childcare, personal care, regulated care, cooking or routine pet care. Any occasional task outside the standard role would be discussed and agreed in advance and must remain safe, lawful and appropriate.
How to apply
Apply through this listing with your CV and a short supporting statement explaining the environment in which you developed your housekeeping standards, the specialist surfaces or fabrics you are confident caring for, your weekday availability and how you would travel between the service areas.
Applications will be reviewed as they are received. Suitable applicants will be invited to a structured telephone screening, an interview and a paid practical assessment. Any offer will be conditional on satisfactory references, a right-to-work check and a basic DBS check funded by Aurelia Homes. Reasonable adjustments are available throughout recruitment.
Pay: £24.00 per week
