Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook healthy, age-appropriate meals and snacks for children in accordance with dietary guidelines and nutritional standards
- Ensure all food is prepared safely, hygienically, and efficiently, adhering to food safety regulations at all times
- Plan menus that incorporate variety, balance, and nutritional value while accommodating allergies or special dietary requirements
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients and disposal of waste
- Monitor food portions to promote healthy eating habits and prevent waste
- Collaborate with nursery staff to coordinate meal times and assist during snack or meal service as needed
- Follow all health and safety procedures related to food handling, storage, and preparation
Experience
- Proven experience in food preparation or cooking within a professional kitchen environment, ideally with experience working with children or in a childcare setting
- Knowledge of food safety standards, hygiene practices, and allergen management
- Familiarity with meal planning, ingredient sourcing, and kitchen equipment operation
- Previous experience serving meals in a restaurant or similar food service setting is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
