Job Overview
Rossendale Group is a LEEA-accredited, ISO 9001-certified lifting equipment specialist. We design, manufacture, install, and inspect lifting equipment for industrial clients across the UK. We're looking for a skilled Fabricator Welder to join our manufacturing team at our Lincoln branch, producing lifting equipment and structural fabrications to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Work from engineering drawings to mark out, cut, prepare, and fabricate steel components and assemblies.
- Carry out MIG welding on steel to a consistent, high-quality standard.
- Fabricate lifting equipment and structures such as beams, jibs, frames, gantries, and lifting attachments.
- Assemble and fit fabricated parts, checking dimensions and fit-up before and after welding.
- Carry out visual inspection of your own work and support NDT, proof load testing, and final inspection.
- Work to relevant welding procedures and standards, and complete production and quality paperwork accurately.
- Operate workshop equipment safely, including cutting, drilling, and grinding machinery.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area in line with health & safety procedures.
Requirements
Essential:
- Proven experience as a Fabricator Welder in a manufacturing or heavy engineering environment.
- Competent MIG welder on steel.
- Able to read and work confidently from engineering drawings.
- Good attention to detail and pride in quality of workmanship.
- Sound understanding of workshop health & safety.
Desirable:
- Coded MIG welding qualification (e.g. BS EN ISO 9606-1, 135 process).
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Fabrication and Welding or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Experience in lifting equipment, structural steel, or fabrication to BS EN 1090.
- Site work and installation experience — fabrication, welding, and fitting on customer sites.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Overhead crane and/or forklift (counterbalance) tickets.
- Slinging and lifting accessory awareness.
