Position Summary
The Logistics & Dispatch Leader is responsible for overseeing daily logistics, transportation, and dispatch operations to ensure the timely, safe, and cost-effective movement of goods. This role leads the dispatch team, coordinates with drivers and warehouse personnel, monitors delivery performance, and continuously improves operational efficiency while maintaining high customer service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the daily activities of the logistics and dispatch team.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate deliveries and transportation routes.
- Assign drivers and vehicles based on operational needs and delivery priorities.
- Monitor shipment status and proactively resolve delivery issues or delays.
- Maintain accurate dispatch records, transportation logs, and delivery documentation.
- Communicate effectively with customers, drivers, warehouse staff, and management regarding delivery schedules and operational updates.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, transportation regulations, and safety standards.
- Monitor fleet utilization and coordinate vehicle maintenance schedules.
- Analyze logistics performance metrics and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Manage staffing schedules, training, coaching, and performance evaluations for dispatch personnel.
- Support inventory movement and coordinate closely with warehouse operations.
- Handle customer concerns related to deliveries and provide timely resolutions.
- Prepare operational reports and present performance updates to management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or dispatch operations.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of logistics processes, routing, and transportation regulations.
- Proficiency with dispatch, transportation management, or ERP software.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.

Working Conditions
