Job Overview
We are seeking a professional, alert, and customer-focused Gatehouse Security Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in controlling site access, maintaining security at the gatehouse, and ensuring the safety of staff, visitors, and the general public. This role requires a valid frontline SIA licence, strong communication skills, and the ability to remain calm and decisive in a busy, public-facing environment.
Hours of Work:
- Fridays - 12:00-20:00
- Saturdays, Sundays - 08:00 - 20:00
Key Responsibilities
- Control and monitor access to the site via the gatehouse, ensuring only authorised personnel and vehicles are permitted entry
- Greet visitors professionally, verify identification, and issue passes where required
- Maintain accurate visitor, vehicle, and incident logs
- Conduct regular foot patrols of the site as required
- Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, and emergencies, following site procedures
- Deal confidently and courteously with members of the public, contractors, and staff
- Escalate incidents and liaise with supervisors or emergency services when necessary
- Ensure full compliance with company policies, site instructions, and health & safety regulations
Experience & Skills
- Previous experience in a gatehouse, access-control, or manned guarding role is essential
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage conflict and remain professional under pressure
Essential Requirements
- Valid frontline SIA licence (SG/DS)
- Experience in a public-facing security role
- Strong communication and conflict management skills
- Physically fit and mentally resilient, with the ability to carry out regular foot patrols
- Professional appearance, punctuality, and a positive attitude
