Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT)Nationwide Care Pharmacy Birmingham Full-time or Part-time | 9:00am–6:00pm | Monday–Friday Nationwide Care Pharmacy is a growing care-home and internet pharmacy providing a high-quality dispensing and delivery service to care homes and patients across the UK.We are looking for an experienced and highly organised Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT) to join our expanding pharmacy team.This is an excellent opportunity for an ACT who enjoys working in a busy, structured pharmacy environment and wants to be part of a team where accuracy, efficiency and patient safety are genuinely valued.The RoleAs an ACT, you will play an important role in ensuring prescriptions are accurately checked, completed and ready for dispatch within the required timescales.You will work closely with our pharmacists, dispensary team, care-home administration team and stock team to ensure our workflow runs smoothly.Key responsibilitiesCarrying out final accuracy checks on dispensed prescriptions within your scope of practiceChecking care-home and community prescriptions accurately and efficientlyWorking with Titan PMR and other pharmacy systemsChecking monitored dosage systems, compliance aids and other prepared medicationIdentifying and resolving discrepancies before medication leaves the pharmacyManaging owings, shortages and outstanding itemsSupporting the team with prescription processing and dispensing when requiredEnsuring prescriptions are completed within agreed deadlinesWorking closely with pharmacists to resolve clinical or dispensing queriesSupporting our care-home dispensing cycles and MAR workflowMaintaining high standards of accuracy, documentation and patient safetyFollowing pharmacy SOPs and quality-control proceduresHelping identify recurring errors or workflow issues and escalating them appropriatelySupporting the wider dispensary team during busy periodsAbout YouWe are looking for someone who is:A qualified Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT) with a current and valid qualificationExperienced in a pharmacy environmentHighly accurate and detail-orientedOrganised and able to prioritise workload effectivelyComfortable working to deadlines and managing a high volume of prescriptionsConfident using pharmacy PMR systemsA strong team player with excellent communication skillsAble to work independently and take ownership of their workloadReliable, professional and committed to patient safetyComfortable working in a structured, process-driven environmentCare-home pharmacy experience is highly desirableExperience with care homes, monitored dosage systems, MAR charts, cycle dispensing, owings or large-scale dispensing would be particularly advantageous.Experience with Titan PMR would also be beneficial, although full training will be provided to the right candidate.What We Offer9:00am–6:00pm working hoursMonday–Friday working patternFull-time or part-time hours availableNo late-night community pharmacy shiftsNo regular weekend workingA supportive and professional pharmacy environmentStructured processes and SOPsOpportunity to develop your skills within a rapidly growing pharmacyOpportunity to work across care-home and internet pharmacy operationsA role where your contribution directly impacts the quality and efficiency of our serviceHoursFull-time: 9:00am–6:00pm, Monday–FridayPart-time: We are happy to consider suitable candidates looking for reduced hours, subject to agreed working patterns.LocationNationwide Care Pharmacy – BirminghamHow to ApplyIf you are an experienced ACT who takes pride in getting things right, works well under pressure and wants to join a growing pharmacy with a strong focus on accuracy, patient safety and operational excellence, we would love to hear from you.Please apply through Indeed with your CV and a brief summary of your ACT experience.Nationwide Care Pharmacy is an equal opportunities employer.I'd keep the advert focused on accuracy + care-home workflow, rather than making it sound like a standard ACT dispensing job.
