We’re looking for an Activities Manager to oversee an exciting programme of activities and excursions for international students in Canterbury.
If you have experience organising activities or events for young people, particularly within a summer school, language school or similar environment, we'd love to hear from you.
Based just a five-minute walk from Canterbury city centre, our school offers free on-site parking.
Who are we?
Each year, students from around the world visit Stafford House International to improve their English and experience life in the UK. Alongside their studies, we offer a packed programme of activities and excursions and that's where you come in.
From football tournaments and scavenger hunts to talent shows, walking tours and more, you'll oversee the planning and delivery of our programme to ensure our students get the most out of their time in the UK.
What you'll be doing
You'll ensure activities and excursions are safe, engaging and well organised, providing day-to-day support to our team of Activity Leaders:
Planning and coordinating a varied programme of daytime, evening and weekend activities- Organising local trips and cultural excursions
- Supporting and coordinating Activity Leaders to ensure activities run smoothly and safely
- Managing activity schedules, resources and equipment
- Monitoring activity quality and encouraging high levels of student participation
- Building positive relationships with students, Group Leaders and colleagues
- Working closely with the wider school team to deliver an outstanding student experience
About you
- Experienced in organising activities, events or leisure programmes for young people, ideally in a summer/language school or similar setting
- Confident coordinating resources and people to ensure activities run safely, smoothly and efficiently
- A strong communicator, able to build positive relationships with students, Group Leaders and colleagues
- Excellent customer service skills, passionate about delivering exceptional student experiences
- Experienced working with international students or overseas groups (desirable)
Hours
37.5 hours per week, with flexibility to work additional hours (evenings and weekends) during peak periods (July and August).
