Are you an experienced first-opinion Veterinary Surgeon looking to take the next step in a supportive, well-equipped hospital environment? Yorkshire Vets, part of inspiring vet care, are looking to add a Veterinary Surgeon to the team.
At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.
We aim to create a varied and fulfilling working day for our team. Your responsibilities will include a balance of consultations, routine and occasional surgical procedures, client communication and call backs, inpatient care and diagnostic workups.
You’ll join a friendly, stable team across our hospital and five branch practices, where collaboration, clinical standards and professional development genuinely matter, with support from certificate holders in ophthalmology, surgery and dermatology.
Here is what Racheal said about life at Yorkshire Vets:
"I started working as a receptionist for Yorkshire Vets in Morley, in March 2026. I can honestly say that all staff here in Morley and at Thornbury Hospital have been extremely welcoming. They are happy to help with my training; staff are patient. There is a positive atmosphere here, and a feeling that we care and want to help each other and our clients. I am enjoying working here and feel settled in the role."
As a Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload.
You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.
This position is ideal for an experienced GP vet who wants to stay grounded in first-opinion work while benefitting from the facilities and caseload of a hospital setting.
Your responsibilities will include first-opinion consultations, inpatient care and clinical decision-making, and diagnostic workups including imaging. This role is predominantly hospital-based, with branch cover and the ability to shape the role around your clinical interests. We are a well-equipped practice with digital X-ray, diagnostic ultrasound (including Doppler), endoscopy, and in-house laboratory and blood analysers.
