Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Team Leader for Bogies & Locomotives to join our dedicated engineering team. In this role, you will lead maintenance and repair activities on bogies (the wheel assemblies of trains) and locomotives, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. Your leadership will drive continuous improvement while fostering a collaborative work environment focused on technical excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise daily maintenance, inspection, and repair tasks on bogies and locomotives
- Coordinate work schedules, allocate resources, and ensure timely completion of projects
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to diagnose issues and guide troubleshooting efforts
- Oversee the use of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during maintenance activities
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Mentor team members, providing technical guidance and fostering skill development
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, inspections, and repairs
Qualifications
- Proven experience in railway or heavy vehicle maintenance with a focus on bogies or locomotive systems
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team and manage multiple tasks
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and other departments
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals, and diagnostic reports
- Knowledge of safety standards relevant to railway maintenance operations
