Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting the Head Chef with kitchen operations, overseeing food production, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety. Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and executing daily kitchen operations.
- Supervise and support kitchen staff, including cooks and junior chefs, ensuring efficient teamwork.
- Oversee food production, ensuring dishes meet quality standards and presentation requirements.
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items in accordance with recipes and safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Manage stock levels, order supplies, and minimise waste to ensure cost-effective operation.
- Ensure all food safety protocols are adhered to at all times.
- Support serving staff during busy periods to ensure prompt service delivery.
- Train new team members on kitchen procedures, safety standards, and food preparation techniques.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a professional kitchen environment.
- Strong background in food production, cooking, and food preparation.
- Extensive kitchen experience with a solid understanding of culinary techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality settings.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure during service hours.
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable.
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and front-of-house staff.
- A passion for culinary excellence and continuous learning within the hospitality industry.
