Lived Experience and Volunteering
Many of our volunteers are drawn to this role because they have lived experience of domestic abuse and/or sexual violence. We deeply value the insight, understanding and empathy that this experience can bring.
If you are currently receiving support from Cyfannol or staying in refuge accommodation, we recommend waiting until your support journey has concluded before applying to volunteer.
We recognise that everyone's experience and healing journey is unique, and we do not set a fixed timeframe for when someone can begin volunteering after support has ended. If this applies to you, we would be happy to have a supportive and confidential conversation as part of the recruitment process.
Commitment: We are looking for volunteers who can commit to a minimum of 5 hours per week, helping us ensure donations are available to women and families when they need them most.
