About the role:
We offer young people safe spaces to explore who they are, make good decisions, increase their self-esteem, develop interpersonal skills, and build emotional resilience — giving them the confidence and skills they need to live, learn, work, and achieve. We help whole families to flourish. We have safe and trusted care and developmental activities, family support, mediation help when complex issues arise at home or school, summer and school holiday camps, and activities that are fun for everyone.
Your role will focus on the following responsibilities:
Individualised Child Development: Create a supportive environment for young people, actively encouraging their holistic development and positive self-image.
Support and assist: Actively helping young people work towards their individual goals.
Collaborate in planning: Preparing activities explicitly tailored for youth centre users.
Building Operations: Take responsibility for opening and closing the facility when required.
Awareness and adherence: Ensure best practices for First Aid, Health and Safety, Safeguarding, and Data Protection procedures.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to best practices for First Aid, Health and Safety, Safeguarding, and Data Protection procedures.
Community Engagement: Actively seek opportunities for networking and outreach with partners and young people in the community.
Data Tracking: Utilize monitoring and evaluation systems to record and track young people's attendance and critical contact information.
Collaboration: Work with other YMCA St. Paul's Group departments, utilising facilities and offices.
Relationship Building: Develop positive relationships with the team and the wider YMCA group.
Activity Planning and Evaluation: Planning and evaluating youth activities, focusing on prime areas, specific areas, and Characteristics of Effective Learning.
