Salary: £40,000 per annum (pro rata, depending on contracted hours)

About Maple Ridge Care Home
Maple Ridge Care Home is a privately owned, purpose-built home providing accommodation and support for 18 adults with a range of learning disabilities. Since 1987, we have been committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care that enables each resident to live as independently and meaningfully as possible.
The Role
We are looking for a compassionate, motivated, and enthusiastic Senior Support Worker to join our dedicated team.
This is a permanent position working on a rolling rota consisting of:
- Two 24-hour shifts (including sleepover duties)
- Followed by two days off
Applicants must be able to work this rotating shift pattern, including overnight sleepovers.
As a Senior Support Worker, you will lead shifts, support the day-to-day running of the home, and ensure our residents receive exceptional, person-centred care. You will work closely with colleagues, healthcare professionals, residents, and their families to promote positive outcomes while maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead shifts and ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained.
- Support, review, and update person-centred support plans and risk assessments.
- Administer medication safely in line with company policies and procedures.
- Use appropriate equipment and moving and handling techniques, including hoists and wheelchairs.
- Liaise effectively with NHS professionals, families, and other external agencies.
- Maintain clear communication with the wider staff team.
- Promote the health, wellbeing, dignity, and independence of residents.
- Attend mandatory training and actively engage in ongoing professional development.
- Respond confidently and effectively to challenging situations while maintaining a positive and supportive environment.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills.
- Good IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office.
- An SVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards achieving it).
- A reliable and professional approach, with excellent attendance and punctuality.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Confidence to lead shifts and make fair, consistent decisions.
- A full UK driving licence (preferred).
- Willingness to undergo an Enhanced PVG check.
