Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Motor Vehicle Technician to join our dynamic team at HiQ Chesterfield . In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a variety of motor vehicles to ensure safety, performance, and compliance with industry standards. Duties
- Perform comprehensive inspections of vehicles using schematics and technical manuals to diagnose issues accurately
- Conduct mechanical repairs, including engine, transmission, brake systems, and suspension components
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques to complete repairs efficiently
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used for each vehicle
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks and equipment repair to ensure vehicles are serviced safely and effectively
- Follow safety protocols during all maintenance procedures and operate equipment in accordance with industry standards
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair needs clearly and explaining maintenance procedures to clients or team members
Qualifications
- Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance and repair
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical diagrams, and manuals accurately
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques
- Strong understanding of vehicle systems including engines, electrical components, brakes, and suspension
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various positions for extended periods
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail during inspections and repairs
- Prior experience in equipment repair or automotive service is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate
