About the Role: Bristol is a hub for innovation and technology, and at DT Communications Ltd, we keep that engine running. We manage critical network infrastructure to ensure enterprise systems stay connected, secure, and fast. We believe that network operations should be proactive, seamless, and rock-solid.
We are looking for a NOC Support Technician who can take ownership of network health and client support. You aren't just watching alerts; you are solving critical issues in real-time. You will work alongside a sharp engineering team, bridging the gap between complex network anomalies and swift technical resolutions. You are the defender of uptime in a world that never stops running.
Why Work With Us?
- The Environment: Located in Bristol with flexible hybrid options. We foster a supportive workspace that prioritizes teamwork, clear communication, and ongoing technical growth.
- Engineering Culture: We don't need you to convince us that network reliability matters. We know it does. You will have direct access to modern network tools and experienced engineers who value your input.
- Modern Tech Stack: We work with industry-standard monitoring tools (PRTG, SolarWinds, Zabbix) and enterprise routing/switching hardware (Cisco, Juniper).
- Growth: You will have access to training resources and mentorship to support your career progression toward senior engineering and certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP).
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Monitoring & Alerting: Keep a close eye on network health using NOC monitoring software. Identify and log performance drops before they become major outages.
- Incident Resolution: Manage Tier 1 and Tier 2 tickets from initial detection through to resolution, ensuring clear communication with affected stakeholders.
- Root Cause Analysis: Don't just reset connections. Investigate network logs, trace issues to their source, and document steps to prevent recurring failures.
- Technical Escalation: Recognize when an issue requires higher-level intervention. Document complex incidents accurately and escalate seamlessly to Tier 3 engineers.
- System Maintenance: Assist with scheduled routine updates, backups, and network integrity checks during maintenance windows.
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience: 1–3 years in an IT support, service desk, or NOC environment with a strong focus on networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs).
- Skills: Hands-on experience with command-line tools, router/switch configurations, and standard network monitoring software.
- Certifications: CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or working towards similar credentials (practical experience is equally valued).
- Communication: Clear verbal and written skills. You can translate complex network statuses into straightforward updates for clients and internal teams.
- Mindset: You stay calm under pressure, enjoy methodical troubleshooting, and know how to prioritize tasks when multiple alerts trigger at once.
Pay: £28,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
Benefits:
