The Legal Aid Agency
We are an executive agency of the Ministry of Justice (MoJ). We are responsible for operationally administering the legal aid fund to provide criminal and civil legal aid advice to people in England and Wales.

This team is leading the transformation of our organisation through innovation, collaboration and inclusion. Originally established in May 2020, the Transformation Team has grown rapidly over the last five years. We are a hybrid team of business change and project delivery experts, and working in partnership with others is at the heart of what we do. We work together with teams across the agency, with the LAA Digital team, MoJ Project Delivery Function experts, MoJ Policy teams and wider stakeholders across the justice system and government.

Job Summary
The Change Coordinator is responsible for leading the coordination and integration of portfolio level change planning. The role takes a portfolio-wide view of change initiatives to ensure that dependencies, impacts, sequencing and readiness are understood and managed in a cont and joined-up way. Working across multiple projects and programmes, the postholder owns the production and quality of insight for the portfolio ensuring that it drives decision-making and governance at senior level. The role helps ensure that change activity is visible, appropriately sequenced and delivered in a way that is manageable for operational areas and supports successful implementation. They have authority to escalate and recommend changes to sequencing and delivery w portfolio-level risks are identified. In contrast to Change Managers, who are aligned to individual projects and focus on the detailed people impacts of a specific initiative, the SEO Change Coordinator operates at portfolio level, bringing together a broader view of delivery pressures, cumulative change impacts and organisational readiness.
The focus of any role in the Transformation Portfolio team is dynamic, reflecting our role in responding to evolving operational and policy implementation priorities.
SEO Change Coordinator is responsible for maintaining a portfolio-level view of change activity and ensuring that senior leaders and delivery teams have clear, accurate and timely information on the cumulative impact of change.

Drive alignment across programmes to ensure a co- nt and manageable change profile

Providing a holistic view and expert advice to support senior decisions around sequencing, dependencies and cumulative impacts across initiatives

Shape and influence senior decision-making by supporting senior leaders by providing insight on change capacity, readiness and areas requiring intervention or reprioritisation
The role works ly with Change Managers, Delivery Planners, and the Project Management Office to support the successful delivery of change. It does not hold primary responsibility for developing the people change strategy for a single project, nor for undertaking project management activity. While the postholder may contribute to communications, engagement or training activity w required, the principal purpose of the role is to provide portfolio-level co-ordination, oversight and assurance.
Key Responsibilities:
Co-ordinate portfolio change activity

Maintain an accurate and current view of change activity across the portfolio, including planned, live and emerging initiatives.
Identify interdependencies, overlaps and pressure points across projects and programmes to support co- nt sequencing and delivery.

Support the development of a whole-portfolio understanding of change impacts to help ensure that operational areas are able to absorb change effectively.
Support reporting and governance

Produce and co-ordinate high-quality portfolio-level reporting which is accurate, timely and supports effective governance and decision-making.
Collate and synthesise information from individual projects and initiatives to provide a clear and co- nt view of progress, risks, readiness and decisions required.

Support the effective operation of governance forums by preparing documentation, monitoring actions and ensuring agreed outputs are progressed.
Inform sequencing and decision-making

Provide analysis and insight to support decisions on the timing, sequencing and co-ordination of change activity across the portfolio.
Escalate areas w- cumulative impacts, delivery dependencies or readiness concerns may affect the successful implementation of change.

Support senior leaders to make informed decisions by presenting clear information on change capacity, risks, constraints and delivery considerations.
Support consistency and continuous improvement

Support the consistent application of portfolio processes, templates and reporting approaches so that information can be compared, interpreted and acted upon effectively.

Work with Change Managers and delivery colleagues to improve the quality, consistency and visibility of change information across the portfolio.

Capture learning and contribute to the continuous improvement of portfolio change management practice and capability.
Build effective working relationships

Develop effective working relationships with Change Managers, Project Managers, programme teams, operational colleagues and senior stakeholders to support the delivery of co-ordinated change.

Act as a reliable point of contact for portfolio change co-ordination, supporting teams to navigate governance requirements, reporting cycles and delivery timescales.

Communicate clearly and professionally, tailoring information and advice to the needs of different audiences.
Essential Knowledge, Experience and skills

Experience of planning, co-ordinating or delivering change activity in a complex organisation.

Ability to assess impacts, risks, dependencies and readiness, and use evidence to inform decisions and next steps.

Experience of working with a wide range of people, including senior leaders, delivery teams and operational colleagues, to support successful implementation.

Ability to communicate complex information clearly, tailoring messages, reporting or advice to different audiences.

Experience of producing clear, high-quality plans, reporting or governance material to support oversight, prioritisation and decision-making.

Ability to manage several priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy, organisation and attention to detail.

Experience of supporting the adoption, implementation or continuous improvement of new ways of working, services or processes.
Desirable Knowledge, Experience and skills

A recognised change management qualification (for example and preferrably Prosci), or comparable professional training, accreditation or practical experience.

Experience of working in a portfolio, programme, project or transformation setting.

Experience of applying recognised change management, project delivery or continuous improvement approaches, tools or methods.

Experience of supporting governance forums, preparing papers, or contributing to clear reporting for senior colleagues.

Experience of working with digital, operational or policy teams to help deliver change.
