Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced individual to join our team as a Luton Van Driver. This role involves operating various types of vehicles and managing logistical tasks to ensure the smooth delivery of goods. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience working in warehouse environments. Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including commercial, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies
- Load and unload goods, often requiring heavy lifting and manual handling
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to meet deadlines
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams, clients, and colleagues regarding delivery schedules and issues
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
- Assist in warehouse tasks such as organising stock, preparing goods for dispatch, and inventory management when required
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar logistics role
- Valid driving licence suitable for driving & commercial driving duties
- Experience working in warehouse environments is desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
